The efficient synthetic approach to 3-(4-carboxyphenyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid based on the “1,2,4-triazine” methodology has been developed. This compound is of practical interest, in particular, for the preparation of metal-organic framework structures (MOF). Its synthesis has not been previously described in the literature.
