In this paper characteristic features of a phenomenon of the Russian revolution are analyzed. It is underlined that the Russian revolution caused or was corrected with the basic tendency of the Russian history of XX century - social modernization. Incompleteness of modernization transition has caused a continuity of revolutionary process.
