The mechanical properties and the structure of Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo-0.1Si (Ti6242S) and Ti-6Al-7Nb alloys after annealing for 100 h at 700 °C in air have been studied. It is shown that the Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy retains plasticity in the oxidized state, which was not observed previously in other doped titanium alloys. The reason for the different mechanical behavior of the Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy is related to the considerably lower gas saturation of its surface during annealing.
