The article is devoted to the acronym of VIP as a male noun which is declined according to the rules of Russian language. An active part of abbreviation is demonstrated in it, as well as wide compatibility is displayed. Lexicographical sources which reflect the belonging of abbreviation, to the parts of speech, morphological signs and syntactical role of abbreviation are used in the article. So, the using of these sources gives a complete idea about the drift-grammatical opportunities of word-building capacities of the abbreviation.
