The article introduces the analysis of stress strained state and modal analysis of duplex cardan drive. Hinged systems of the type are widely used in metallurgic, oil, mining, automobile, and other industries; the question of their reliability remains up-to-date. When examining stress strained state of duplex cardan drive, complex approach was used - determination of strength characteristics with the account of elastic-plastic properties of applied materials and contact interaction of transmission elements. The problem was solved with the use of finite elements method. In order to exclude hazardous operating modes of cardan drive, modal analysis is fulfilled and system’s natural frequencies are determined. Thus, the examination of stress strained state, modal analysis, and recommendations development on the design of equally efficient ears of cardan transmissions are basic aims of given work.
