The article fi nds out the representations of daily life and violations of its regimes in satirical articles of Sverdlovsk / Ural of the 1920s. The reactions of the authors of these articles on social and domestic processes that have been going for the decade are revealed. The specifi c features of the refl ection of the realities and anomalies of military communism, the NEP, the era of industrialization are investigated. Entire corps of texts presented in the Sverdlovsk editions (the newspapers “The Ural Worker”, “For changing!”, “The Comrade Terenty” etc.) are analysed for the fi rst time.
