The experimental results indicating the formation of the extended ordered S-Ti-Se layers (Janus layers) in the Ti(S1-xSex)2 system have been obtained. The presence of these layers is observed as an of the Fermi surface typical for TiS2 and TiSe2. Transmission electron microscopy in the atomic resolution mode allows to observe these layers on typical rotation moiré patterns. The dependence of the emf of the electrochemical cells on the sulfur/selenium ratio as well as ARPES and ResPES spectra indicate that the Ti(S1-xSex)2 system can be considered as a solid solution of the Janus layers in TiS2 or TiSe2 depending on the sulfur and selenium concentration.
