The effect of protective coatings on the corrosion resistance of the casting invar alloy 33NKUL has been analyzed. The result of this investigation proved that the nickel and zinc coatings protected a casted product, however, only under light operating conditions. The main requirement for the surface is a lack of the casting defects and the presence of the degree of roughness not less than Ra 2.5.
