The article examines the grown up “left behind children” who have become parents. The purpose of the article is to analyze statistical differences in the perceptions of the results of parenting in two groups of parents - those who have experience of being left behind children, and those who do not have such experience. The data collected during the survey of parents conducted in China in 2021 is analyzed. A variety of statistical methods are used - descriptive statistics, tests to identify the significance of differences between groups, correlation analysis. The results of the study are as follows: 1. Regardless of the presence or absence of experience of being in the status of left behind children, parents as subjects of parental labor did not find significant differences in the perceptions that make up the core of the results of parental labor (physical and mental health, safety), as well as in the ranking of academic performance as a potential result of parental labor. At the same time, differences in the representations of the two categories of subjects of parental labor are related to the hierarchy of representations within the core; 2. Regardless of whether the respondents were previously left behind children or were not, the lower the level of education, the more significant the result of parental labor is academic performance. In addition, a higher level of education of respondents-parents who had experience of being among left behind children predetermines a higher significance of such results of parental labor as good habits, formed character, safety, physical and mental health, interpersonal communication skills of their children.
