This article is devoted to the phenomenon of regional press in conditions of Revolution 1917. It is based on the press published in Vyatka, Perm, Orenburg, Tobolsk and Ufa regions. The authors prove that Provisional Government had not succeeded neither in controlling of regional information space, not in effective contra propaganda of extremist ideas. It was one of the reasons of the ‘’February’’ government’s failure.
