Aim. To assess the mental stability of young athletes in the competitive period for the development of adaptation under stress.
Materials and methods. The study involved 10 girls, ages 14-15, with different skill levels. In the competitive period, the mental stability of female pole vaulters was assessed to identify their emotional status and noise resistance.
Results. The study shows the necessity of testing the emotional and mental stability of pole vaulters to individualize and effectively apply antistress training during the competitive period.
Conclusions. The weaknesses and strengths of athletes were identified to successfully cope with stress in the competitive period by means of self-regulation techniques and specialists in psychology. The methods proposed by the authors provide an effective assessment of mental stability, thereby helping athletes in their adaptation to stress and enhancing athletic performance.
