One of the most common problems of absenteeism or decreased productivity are health problems. Therefore, health capital research is increasingly in demand. However, the abstract nature of the concept of health capital and the absence of a single generally accepted methodology for assessing the indicator cause a scientific problem of the study. The authors developed a comprehensive integral indicator of health capital and with its help assessed the level of health capital of the Russian population. The results obtained indicate the average level of health of the employed population and the existing risks of temporary disability or reduced productivity due to poor health. There is a development of programs for investing in the health capital of the employed population of all age groups and regions. The article may be of interest to research scientists, heads of departments, and employees of ministries conducting research in the field of health capital of regions and companies.
