The article is devoted to the activities of the Russian military pedagogues in Egypt in the early 1920s. The special attention is paid to the functioning ’s history of Don cadet corps in Tell El Kebir and near the city of Ismailia in 1920-1922. The source of information is the memoirs of the corps’ pupil Y.E. Goncharov and the civilian refugee writer and journalist A.A. Jablonowski, who was also in the camp of Tell El Kebir. In addition, the paper uses works by leading Russian africanists, specialists in the history of the Russian émigré communities. The article shows the specificity of the conditions in which Don cadet corps operated in Egypt. It is the first time when special attention is paid to the features of upbringing work in Russian cadet corps in the emigration conditions in Egypt. The paper analyzes the specificity of the educational and cultural work, organization of moral and aesthetic education of cadets in emigration. The authors show what methods the leadership corps managed in difficult conditions to organize educational process and re-create the material and technical and methodical base. Besides there are a lot of difficulties that the administration and academic staff faced (limited funding, shortage of qualified teaching personnel, etc.). The paper describes the reasons and historical conditions of closing of the corps in 1922.
