The work is devoted to the study of international research tourism as one of the promising areas for the development of dialogue between states. It has been established that this area of tourism has been developing for a long time, but there is no until now neither the regional nor the universal international legal mechanism aimed at promoting the development of this type of tourism. It has been determined that in the modern realities of international relations, when the entire system of relations between states is being transformed, such a direction of interstate interaction will be relevant, since the interests of individuals who constantly make this type of tourist trip will be under due attention. As a result of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that sufficient foundations for the introduction of such a direction of interstate interaction have been created within the framework of the CIS.
