The article deals with the legal analysis of the judicial process established by the legislation for the special order of Russian civil proceedings in the XIX century with some comparisons in the modern process. The reasons for the crisis of this type of adversarial proceedings are identified and explained. The article highlights the reform projects of the "court of form" and their fate.
