Article is devoted to the role of the opposition journalist in media system of the Russian Empire. An activity of the executive assistant of the newspaper “Golos Urala” F. Lebedev (F. Sibirsky) during the election campaign to IV State Duma is used as an example. With the help of the study of publications by F. Lebedev the author proves us how the possibility of legal periodicals were used in order to expose the views of the radical opposition.
