Currently, in China, as in many countries of the Eurasian Union, there are negative demographic trends associated with an aging population and a low birth rate. This becomes an impetus for the implementation of an active demographic policy aimed at overcoming the negative situation. At the same time, many countries have a high differentiation of demographic and socioeconomic indicators, which raises the question of the need to implement different regional demographic policies that take into account the specifics of specific territories within the country and the population living on them. The article presents a study of a large social group of Chinese society - left behind children - from the point of view of the theory of social stratification. It is proved that it is advisable to use the household registration system and access to professional resources as stratification criteria for the allocation of this social group. It is shown that the study of this group as subjects of the realization of parental labor is of particular relevance, since it will reveal the specifics of the organization of this type of work, attitude to it, motivation and satisfaction with it of its actors.
