The article deals with the results of the project activities in a foreign language in the professional sphere of the students of Institute of Radio Electronics and Information Technologies of Ural Federal University named after the First President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin. There is described the approach to the organization of the interdisciplinary projects in a foreign language, there is given the definition of the foreign language communicative and scientific-research competencies. The authors present the methodology of the realization of the projects in a foreign language and the results of the inquiry of the significance of the projects of the teachers and students.
