FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiation physics and specifically to methods of measuring the absorbed dose of ionising γ-radiation or β-radiation or a pulsed electron stream in a thermoluminescent detector based an anion-defect monocrystal of aluminium oxide. The method of measuring the absorbed dose of ionising radiation in a thermoluminescent detector based on an anion-defect monocrystal of aluminium oxide containing small and deep charge carrier traps, involves preparing the detector for measuring by heating to a certain temperature, irradiating the detector with the measured radiation and measuring the dosimetric thermoluminescent signal in the luminescence band of 240-280 nm when the detector is heated to the required temperature, wherein preparation of the detector for measuring is carried out after irradiation thereof with the measured radiation, and the detector for measuring the dosimetric thermoluminescent signal is heated to a temperature in the range of 910-930 °K.
EFFECT: wider range of measured doses.
