The article focuses on the cognitive discourse analysis of the conceptual models of red colour. It examines the metaphorization patterns of red colour in British and American English based on a variety of information sources. The aim is to compare the results of the analysis of the conceptual models of red colour in terms of the cultures under consideration. The cognitive discourse analysis approach constitutes the main method of studying this phenomenon. Thus, the first stage includes a research into the conceptual models of this colour, which have been analyzed by means of psychophysiological, linguocultural and lexicographical sources from both cultures. The results of this stage are presented in the form of a summary table giving information about similarities and differences in the conceptual models. The next stage is based on an analysis of the verbal usage of red colour in creolized rock-texts of the studied cultures. The main idea of this stage is to identify frequently used concepts on the example of one discourse. The idea of “creolized text” is constituent for both the article and research itself as it allows to include non-verbal components in the analysis, hence, makes it more complex. According to the results, the author draws a range of conclusions concerning the general proximity of the conceptual models of red colour in the studied cultures and the differences revealed in rock-discourse. The results of this research might give additional knowledge about these cultures and develop tolerance between them.
