The process of the radial reduction of billets on a radial-forging machine (RFM) with a swing-type die movement is discussed. The purpose of the study was to determine the maximum value of the metal feeding during forging for the rational selection of machine drive elements. For it the expressions describing the die movement during the radial forging on the RFM, the equations for drive power balance and machine stroke non-uniformity were obtained. Different parameters were analyzed. The analysis to determine the maximum value of billet feeding to dies for different types of motors and different values of reduced barring masses of flywheel applied on the RFM with a swing-type die movement were carried out.
