Two ego-texts by A. A. Shishkov («List of letters from Georgia», «Ketevan, or Georgia in 1812») are analyzed taking into account figurative, plot, textual parallels with the works of M. Yu. Lermontov. Relying on Shishkov's prose about Georgia, possible literary prototypes of the images of Bela and Maksim Maksimych in the novel «A Hero of Our Time» are revealed. It is proved that in the element of Lermontov's «Georgian text» (the poem «Don't cry, don't cry, my child...»), the lyrical plot repeats the love line of Shishkov's novel about Georgia.
