At the end of April in Ekaterinburg the academic and research conference «70 - anniversary of the Great Victory: historical experience and problems of today» occurred. This event was carried out under the guidance of Sverdlovsk oblast government, accompanied by Ural State Military Museum, Institute of History and Archeology Ural branch of RAS, Ural Federal University and other state, educational, museum, archive and social organizations. This forum gathered a wide range of specialists: historians, economists, pedagogues, geographers, philosophers, philologists, political scientists, culturologists and military men. About this conference and scientific topics of it we have discussed with one of the organizers - the Doctor of history, Professor Andrey Vladimirovich Speransky. Our guest has told us that this forum was prepared and carried out in the form of military readings which have become a tradition for Ekaterinburg. More than two hundred scientists from 70 Russian cities and foreign countries have taken part in this event. Professor Speransky believes that his conference can give a new urge for studying and understanding of World War II, using of its negative and positive experience for the goals of future historical base broadening and improvement of patriotic upbringing.
