The article analyzes trends of the professional career strategies of the youth by the example of Sverdlovsk region students and graduates. The author discusses the problems associated with the part-time occupation of students, the graduates'' output into the labor market and their subsequent career start. The author dwells upon the typology of youth career strategies formed under the current conditions in the transformed Russian society.
