The present research covers the conducted experimental procedure and summarizes the influence of lateral oscillation parameters of a cladding torch during two cladding methods with a consumable electrode and current-carrying filler wire: to obtain the widest possible weld bead and melt pool and to get the minimum admissible penetration of the base metal under given width of the deposited layer. It was found out, that a minimum heat input value needed to obtain a unit of cross-sectional area of a deposited layer can be reached under equal values of an amplitude and a width of the deposited pool. It was established that to avoid lack of penetration it is important to maintain certain ratios between oscillation parameters and energy parameters of a cladding procedure.
