The results of studies of the features of the perception of a significant for the respondents fragment of the urban area on the sample of students, using the author's drawing techniques, socio-demographic and ecological questionnaire and Cattell’s factor personal questionnaire 16PF are presented. The age and sex conditioning of this perception is confirmed. It was found that the level of maturity of the individual associated with the environmental concern. The relationship between the specific number of «stations» in the drawings of a significant for the respondents piece of the urban area and the level of anxiety of the individual is identified. Hypothesized the existence of a link between the rejection of the environment and personal anxiety. The efficiency of the proposed approach to obtain a valid information for the problems of habitat quality management is demonstrated.
