Automobile and tractor trains, along with their advantages, have a number of disadvantages compared to single cars, manifested in a decrease in maneuvering performance, deterioration in the stability of straight-line traffic, and complication of management. These disadvantages are due to the presence of several articulated trailer elements (transport links), each of which can make an indefinite (unstable) movement with the most qualified driving. The instability of the movement of trailers can manifest itself not only with curved movement or maneuvering in reverse, but also with the rectilinear movement of the tractor. Lateral deviations of a two-axle trailer in rectilinear motion can occur already at speeds exceeding 45-50 km/h, which is an obstacle to using the high-speed potential of modern tractor vehicles and wheeled tractors used in transport work. Therefore, the safety of tractor trains under operating conditions is mainly ensured by the speed limit. The reason for the violation of the stability of the movement of a two-axle trailer may be insufficient stabilization of the wheels of the front swivel trolley. The stabilization of the wheels of the front rotary trolley of a two-axle trailer should be understood as the property of maintaining a neutral position corresponding to rectilinear movement, and returning to this position after deviations caused by external force factors - road irregularities, wind gusts, uneven tire pressure, etc. To stabilize the wheels of the front swivel trolley of a two-axle trailer, inventors and researchers of vehicle stability issues offer various types of mechanical, hydraulic, friction and other devices. The simplest technical solution of the device for stabilizing the wheels of the front trolley with a rotary wheel (rotary platform) can be attributed to a rotary device with a longitudinal tilt of the axis of rotation of the rotary wheel from the vertical - an imaginary pin. The article considers the method of determining the stabilizing moment that contributes to the stabilization of the wheels of the front rotary trolley. The analysis of the dependences of the influence of the tilt of the pivot wheel of the front wheel of a two-axle trailer on the stabilization of the cart wheels is presented.
