The investigation results of the effect of friction conditions on the contact surface of a tool and metal on the stress-strain state of metal in the deformation focus during cold forging of rods on a lever radial-forging machine are presented. The analyses has been carried out using the finite element method. The analysis of the data obtained made possible to give recommendations on the magnitude of the friction forces on the contact surface of the tool and metal during forging to achieve rational processing modes.
