To intensify heat and mass exchange processes in a bath of liquid melt of an oxygen converter with a capacity of 160t, the pulsating effect of bottom blowing of inert gas at frequencies of 0 was tested; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5 Of Hz. A rational value of the pulsation frequency of 2,5 Hz was established, at which a decrease in residual vanadium from 6,41 to 6,17% was observed in the metal melt with a decrease in the mass output of off-gases, the proportion of heat of exothermic reactions and the thermal efficiency of the unit. Prolonged tests of the rational pulsation regime (80 thousand melts) confirmed the possibility of increasing the yield of the carbonaceous semi-product by 2,932% with a decrease in vanadium losses from 6,42 to 5,74% or by 10,59%.
