The issue of Tchaikovsky’s professional contacts related to the French culture is studied. The great composer’s critical essays and letters are examined. A conclusion is made that the great Russian genius displayed signifi - cant interest to French history, literature, music, and those aspects played an important role in his professional artistic development.
