The interference immunity of communication systems that use spread-spectrum signals is proportional to the signal base. In the presence of a powerful narrowband interference, an effective way to increase noise immunity is to use frequency hopping technique. In this paper, a method has been developed for monitoring the channel occupancy when receiving signals with signal-to-noise ratio less than one (down to -10 dB) and tuning the signal frequency to a different spectrum position if it is affected by the interference. The time characteristics of the procedure are estimated, and the possibility of transmitting video messages with H.264 compression without disrupting the image during the frequency hop is shown.
