Description of the new scheme of the process of tube rolling on a stub mandrel is presented. ?e investigations were car-ried out on the basis of lengthwise rolling mill installed at the PJSC “Sinarsky Pipe Works”. Rough tube forming on stub mandrel in lengthwise rolling mill with rough tube preovalisation has been investigated with the ?nite-element method application. ?e behavior of the dimensionless parameters characterizing the deformation of the metal in the groove taper as dependent on the rough tube elongation ratio has been determined. ?e research results of the in?uence of the sleeve ovality and kinematic tension of tube on the metal deformation during rolling of the sleeve on the stub mandrel were given. ?e research was conducted on the basis of computer simulation. It is found that the application of the kinematic tension and preovalization of the sleeve during tube rolling on stub mandrel allows increasing the elongation ratio by 37%, decreasing wall thickness variation and expanding the assortment of tubes produced on tube rolling aggregates with automatic rolling mill.
