The purpose of the article is to reveal the social characteristics of parents in their «silver age» and to find a justification for their choice of late childbirth as a way to «overcome the age». Late childbearing and elderly parenthood are presented as one of the strategies to overcome the temporal contradictions of the age community - between biological, psychological and social time. We reveal the social background for the emergence and proliferation of this behavioral strategy among «silver age» people in modern society. We also identify the motives for the choice of elderly parenthood and such social characteristics of elderly parents as their family and marital status, occupation, level of activity in the public space, taking into account the social environment's opinion. The author's technique of sociological study of the phenomenon based on the case study strategy is presented
