The relevance of the study is based on the fact that the impact of industrial companies on the environment is increasing. In addition, non-renewable natural resources are being depleted. The risks associated with the ongoing processes focus the attention of scientists on taking into account the environmental performance indicators of the company along with economic and social ones. The conducted research is devoted to the conceptual bases of the evaluation of the effectiveness of a company in terms of the impact of metallurgical production on the environment. The article reveals the content of the methodology of evaluation of the effectiveness of the iron and steel company in the conditions of greening of production. The methodological approach includes the sequential implementation of several stages. It is based on a balanced system of partial indicators, resulting in an integral one. The results of the study can be used for management decisions on the prospects of investments in the metallurgical company's activities and for the development of methodological bases in metallurgical ecology.
