In 2022 two monographs by V.G. Kiknadze were published in the Russian Military Historical Society Library book series. The authors of the review remark on the topicality of the subject chosen by the Russian historian, the sparkling journalistic style and well-justified conclusions. The books under review are a hefty comprehensive research into the topical theme of fighting falsification and mythologization of domestic history, above all the events of the Great Patriotic War. The review authors point out the abundance of archival materials used by V.G. Kiknadze, and also original research methodologies. The forte of the books is their polemic nature and openness. The monograph Power in the Truth presents the history of Ukrainian nationalism and also explains the task of denazifying Ukraine set to the Russian army, in popular-science form, which makes this difficult material comprehensible for a broad readership.
