The article analyzes the indicators of financial literacy among residents of the largest city in terms of socio-demographic factors. The research focuses on the residents of Yekaterinburg, and the analysis is based on materials from the Regional Center for Financial Literacy of the Sverdlovsk region. The level of financial literacy is examined in relation to socio-demographic factors such as age, income level, education level, and employment status. The article examines indicators that characterize self-assessment of financial literacy level, the application of financial literacy knowledge in everyday life, and the average level of financial literacy among different age groups, income levels, education levels, and employment statuses. The main macroeconomic indicators of Yekaterinburg as the largest city in the Sverdlovsk region are presented. The article compares the indicators of financial literacy between Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region as a whole. It is revealed that the main risk for the residents of the largest city is an overestimation of their own level of financial literacy, which is characteristic both for financially literate categories (individuals with high incomes, individuals with higher education, entrepreneurs) and for the most financially vulnerable groups (pensioners, individuals with low incomes). Some categories (individuals with incomplete higher education, unemployed individuals, students) tend to demonstrate uncertainty in their financial knowledge and underestimate their level of financial literacy. It is typical for a majority of residents in the largest city to actively apply financial knowledge in their everyday life, partly due to a more developed financial and information infrastructure.
