The purpose of the paper is to show important characteristics of child and adolescent volunteering. The results of an empirical research of this developing in the Urals megalopolis are presented. Case presents social impact assessments of the type of volunteer movement under consideration at levels for the local community, organizations and young volunteers themselves. In the course of interviews with leaders of the volunteer movement, the educational potential of this volunteering have been investigated.
