On the material of historical and sociological analysis the author addresses the issue of relationship between Russian sociology and the government. It is shown how those relations were lined up on each of the three main stages of the Russian sociology’ s development. It is concluded that, despite of their mutual rejection, sociology and government in Russia are «doomed» to be together.
