The article presents data regarding the connection between happiness and psychological well-being and the compliance with moral standards on the example of such norms-prohibitions as greed, wrath, pride, lust, envy, sloth, and gluttony. The study was conducted based on students’ sample. For our diagnostic we used the following methods: «Oxford happiness inventory»; «Ryff’s scales of psychological well-being»; «greed», «wrath», «pride», «lust», «envy», «gluttony», «sloth» tests (Yu. V. Shcherbatykh); the 10-item self-esteem scales of compliance with these norms-prohibitions. Contradictory results were obtained, concerning positive connection between compliance with moral standards and sense of happiness and negative correlation with psychological well-being.
