In the context of the development of a new type of society - information society - new political norms are being formed. The authors of the article consider such of them as: political traditions, customs and rituals. The author's definitions of political norms, political traditions, and political customs are given in the article. Groups of traditions, customs and rituals characteristic of industrial and information society are presented. The authors raise the question of studying them from a sociological perspective. The current state of political traditions, customs and rituals in Russian society is briefly considered. Lists of these standards for regulating relations in politics are proposed, which can be considered as criteria for empirical sociological research.
