In field and laboratory conditions the activating effect of AC to anodes of cathodic protection system was studied. Dependence of the efficiency of activation of the anode on the duration of action of the alternating current Was determined. Electric circuit with simultaneous and separate supply of protection with DC and activating with the alternating current were experimentally tested.
