In this article tendencies, characteristic for specialized mass media development and conditions of convergence are being analyzed. Various options contributing to the growth of their competitiveness are presented. As authors prove, specialized mass media can develop and be transformed quite successfully, keeping all the typological advantages and particularities. At the same time, system connections with social networks’ users of and interaction with target audience are being achieved.
