FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hardening of flat surfaces of blanks. Hardening rotary tool is moved along whole surface of blank being machined with adjusted load and speed along preset trajectory. Hardening tool is used with working rod of height H1, wherein H1=0.8...0.9 H2, where H2 is depth of reinforced blank layer. Surface hardening is performed by impression of said hardening tool to depth H1 into blank.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of hardening process.
