The article examines the image of the cleric - Father Brown, created by the writer G.K. Chesterton. An attempt is made to analyze this image from the point of view of the philosophy of law, namely, one of its parts - the philosophy of crime. The authors come to the conclusion that the works of mass culture force the reader / viewer to turn not just to visual images, acting as consumers. There are deeper layers of analysis of works of art, especially devoted to such topical issues as crimes and their prevention in society.
