The article is devoted to assessing the development of the industrial complex of the region on the quality of life of the population. When assessing the quality of life of the population, the authors proposed to take into account the influence of anthropogenic factors, the source of which is industrial production, which provokes man-made accidents and disasters. The system of indicators of the quality of life of the population has been supplemented, taking into account the factors of the impact of man-made accidents and disasters. The impact on the main components of the quality of life of the population of the largest man-made disaster in history, the Chernobyl accident, is considered.
