The use of peripheral vision is an important component of the skill of a modern hockey player. The purpose of the work is to study the features of the use of peripheral vision in young hockey players, taking into account age characteristics. The study was conducted on the basis of the "Spartakovets Hockey Academy" (Yekaterinburg). Young hockey players aged seven (n=38), nine (n=25) and twelve (n=27) were tested to assess hand-eye coordination using a BLAZEPOD simulator. Observation of the peculiarities of the use of peripheral vision by athletes made it possible to form a scale for evaluating the use of peripheral vision by athletes of game sports when testing visual-motor coordination. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the degree of use of peripheral vision increases depending on age and sports experience. The distribution of peripheral vision use within age groups can be used in the process of sports training with the use of techniques to improve the quality of peripheral vision use by athletes in game sports.
