Researchers evaluated the dispersed composition of iron oxide pigment obtained from sludge after acid treatment of serpentinite. Taking into account the obtained experimental and literature data, the scientists formulated criteria for optimizing the functional properties of the studied pigment, conducted a comparative assessment of the results of grinding the pigment using a jet and vibration mill according to the dispersed composition and optical characteristics. Researchers have identified a convergence of the dispersed characteristics of ground samples with red iron oxide pigments of foreign production, widely represented in the domestic market. They proved the fact of improving the dispersed composition of the pigment and its optical characteristics by grinding using jet and vibration mills and obtained data for the development of a technological scheme for the production of iron oxide pigment from serpentinite processing waste.
