In the article, athletes’ personal determinants of stress resistance were studied, such as coping strategies and psychological reliability. The purpose of this study is to compare coping strategies and psychological reliability of athletes with different sportsmanship levels. The obtained data allows us to identify the dominant coping strategies, as well as to assess the psychological reliability of athletes owning different sports qualification levels. Based on the obtained data, it can draw a conclusion that strategies of overcoming stressful situations are the most preferable for achieving sports achievements. Besides, they could positively affect the competitive emotional stability, but the opposite strategies could be less effective. The results of this study are useful for psychological work with athletes in the organizations and they can be applied to practical recommendations for athletes and coaches.
