From the perspective of cognitive paradigm an effort to interprete an allusive unit in the associative and historical contexts makes possible to identify the author’s attitude to a particular historical event. W. Churchill’s use of allusions in his memoirs reflects the peculiarities of his understanding the historical events’ reality.
