Methodological base of sustainability provision for generating companies at the energy and power supply wholesale market is provided in the article. The notion of sustainability is adjusted to the specifics of power industry. Factors influencing sustainable functioning of wholesale generating companies are enumerated. The method of sustainability level evaluation for the purpose its management is put forward. The authors develop methodological tools for the definition of a wholesale market share of a generating company which may provide a compromise between the level of competition and sustainability.
